Purchase tickets to the 2012 Tierce Riesling Release Party

The highly anticipated launch of the 2012 Tierce Dry Riesling is here! Held at Red Newt Wine Cellars on July 5th, the celebration will highlight three cool-climate vineyards, three winemakers and one remarkable wine. Tierce Dry Riesling represents a unique collaboration between Anthony Road Wine Company , Fox Run Vineyards and Red Newt Wine Cellars – integrating not only the varying vineyard expressions of Seneca Lake, but also the individual philosophies of the participating winemakers.

Peter Bell (Fox Run), Johannes Reinhardt (Anthony Road) and David Whiting (Red Newt) have peered through the prism of cool-climate terroir to produce Tierce.  Drawing from three distinct winegrowing subregions of Seneca Lake, this Riesling offers complexities and nuances that set it apart from all others – making it uniquely Finger Lakes.

This year’s event will have a special guest as the event emcee. British wine writer Stuart Pigott has the honor of introducing the new Tierce Riesling to the crowd. Tierce is mentioned in his newly released book, Best White Wine on Earth: The Riesling Book, which will be available for purchase during the event as well. Stuart Pigott has traveled the world researching this grape varietal and is very familiar with the rise in popularity Finger Lakes Riesling is having around the world.

Guests will have the opportunity to taste the separate 2012 Tierce Dry Riesling varietal components. Only then will the 2012 Tierce be poured. The event is the first opportunity to purchase the 2012 Tierce Riesling. Tickets are $45 per person and available online at www.tierce2012.eventbrite.com. Doors open at 7 pm.

Mingle with the "Tierce Brothers" and enjoy light appetizers throughout the evening. Guests will be welcomed with a favorite summer-time wine from each winery. The Official Welcome will start at 7:15PM with an interesting tasting of the separate 2012 Tierce Dry Riesling varietal components. Only then will the 2012 Tierce be poured. The event will have the 2012 Tierce available for purchase and time for the three winemakers to autograph bottles.

Tierce - A Finger Lakes Wine Collaboration
Written by Webmaster

index_image.jpg Tierce Dry Riesling represents a unique collaborative effort of Anthony Road Wine Company, Fox Run Vineyards and Red Newt Wine Cellars.. This wine pulls together not only the unique vineyard expressions of Seneca Lake, but also the individual philosophies of the participating winemakers.

Three vineyards, three winemakers, one wine. "Tierce". Peter Bell (Fox Run), Johannes Reinhardt (Anthony Road) and DavidWhiting (Red Newt) have peered through the mystique of terroir to produce "Tierce". An expression of the synergy of three distinctive winegrowing subregions of Seneca Lake, this Riesling is lean and focused, offering complexities and nuances that set it apart from all others and make it uniquely Finger Lakes.   Each contributed Riesling components to make a blend that wine historian and reviewer Paul Lukacs has described as “enthralling” and “simply fantastic.”

Peter, Johannes and Dave not only decided what blend to create, they also chose to seal the bottle with a screw cap because this type of closure works well for wines with delicate aromas, such as a Riesling. Fox Run winemaker, Peter Bell, noted that, Screw caps with Riesling wines are quite clearly the way of the future. Corks, natural or synthetic, have a tendency to affect the wine's aroma.

Last week's blending session of  Tierce yielded some outstanding results.   The blend has been identified, and the winemakers are excited.  Check out some photos of the Tierce Brothers (and company) hard at work.
