Tierce Dry Riesling represents a unique collaborative effort of Anthony Road Wine Company, Fox Run Vineyards and Red Newt Wine Cellars.. This wine pulls together not only the unique vineyard expressions of Seneca Lake, but also the individual philosophies of the participating winemakers.
Three vineyards, three winemakers, one wine. "Tierce". Peter Bell (Fox Run), Johannes Reinhardt (Anthony Road) and DavidWhiting (Red Newt) have peered through the mystique of terroir to produce "Tierce". An expression of the synergy of three distinctive winegrowing subregions of Seneca Lake, this Riesling is lean and focused, offering complexities and nuances that set it apart from all others and make it uniquely Finger Lakes. Each contributed Riesling components to make a blend that wine historian and reviewer Paul Lukacs has described as “enthralling” and “simply fantastic.”
Peter, Johannes and Dave not only decided what blend to create, they also chose to seal the bottle with a screw cap because this type of closure works well for wines with delicate aromas, such as a Riesling. Fox Run winemaker, Peter Bell, noted that, Screw caps with Riesling wines are quite clearly the way of the future. Corks, natural or synthetic, have a tendency to affect the wine's aroma.
